FIVE STAR PRISON CELL To Release New Album In March

January 22, 2007

Australian tech metallers FIVE STAR PRISON CELL will release their new album, "Slaves of Virgo", on March 5 via Faultline Records.

Commented the band: "We know, we know, we fucking know! It has been a long time coming — we've been sitting on this egg for nearly seven months now, so as you can imagine, we are more than eager to get it out there. March isn't too far away, so if you are interested: help a brother out and start hassling your local record store to stock it. I'm not sure if they are taking pre-orders as of yet but see how you go. It should be available at all the usual retail outlets. The other option is: you tightwad net nerds can download it from iTunes."

"Slaves of Virgo" was produced by dw Norton at Back Beach studios in Rye, Victoria, Australia. A video for "Obtuse: The Essence of Indifference" is also in the works.

FIVE STAR PRISON CELL was recently honored with the 2006 MusicOz award (Australia's premier music awards for unsigned artists) for "Best Metal/Hardcore Artist". Cam [bassist Cameron Macdonald] and Mark [drummer Marc Whitworth] flew to Sydney last November and accepted the award.
